Two men rescued from Sodus Bay

January 8, 2008  Sodus Point Fire Department assisted by Wallington F.D., North Rose, and Alton F.D. water rescue units called out around 3:30 pm for two ice boats that went through the ice and two men in the water. Wallington set up a landing zone for Mercy Flight at the ball fields in the hamlet of Sodus Point. One man was taken by helicopter to Rochester , while the other went by ground ambulance.Quick work was done to rescue the men from the ice and no one was seriously injured.
